Customer Review: Fits into the fridge

I have two Brita pitchers this one and older model that does not have filter indicator, is square shaped and has one piece lid as opposed to two. Both fit into the fridge nicely and filter tap water adequately to my taste. The only reason I like the old pitcher better is that the flap never gets stuck when you try to pour water out. With this pitcher it occasionally gets stuck and water spills all over the place. At first I though it was a matter of not cleaning the spout properly but it happens even after the pitcher has just been washed. The filter change indicator is nice little feature that reminds me to change the filters on both pitchers.
In case you are considering one of those in-fridge models I'd advice against it. I once had the unfortunate pleasure of cleaning one that had formed mold or bacteria or something inside and the corners and particularly the tap on the thing was very difficult to wash. Also as you are not supposed to pour hot water into it, I was rather skeptical if it was sanitary enough to use again. These pitchers I've washed successfully in the dishwasher even though I'm not sure if you are supposed to. I've put the reservoir and lids to the upper shelf and washed the pitchers themselves on the bottom with normal wash settings.

I never used to drink water from the tap. Even though it's safe, it always left a bad taste in my mouth. But now with this Brita Pitcher I drink more water than ever. I cant believe how much I drink. I'll pour a glass and down the whole thing just because it's that good. And the filter lasts a while, Ive had the pitcher now for over a month (in a family of four + 1 dog) and it just recently went down one notch to 75% on the replacement indicator. I can see the filters lasting an easy 3-4 months. Another plus is how fast it filters the water, if you go to the fridge and find that one of the kids put the pitcher back empty, no worries, you refill the top and it will be done filtering in less than a few minutes. Amazing! The one and only drawback I noticed was that the first week of using it there a few tiny black specs at the bottom of the pitcher, which actually turned out to be something we should have rinsed out of the top of the pitcher initially anyway. I recently purchased this product in an effort to do my part toward protecting the environment, and to save money and eliminated the need to purchase bottled water. I just admit that after drinking the same water pretty consistently for many years, I did notice a difference in the taste of the water. The filtered water didn't taste as good. But, I decided to go with it anyway and with time I believed I'd get past the taste differences. Well, it's been about a month now and, although I can't say the filtered taste has grown on me, it is now not nearly as noticeable. And, I actually love the picture itself. I haven't had any problems with the functionality of the picture, it looks great, and I always have a source of fresh, cold water in my fridge.Customer Review: looks slick and works well

The Brita Riviera Water Pitcher (chrome) looks nice, fits into the fridge nicely and holds enough water to fill 4+ very large glasses. The only critique is that there is no seal between the section that holds unfiltered water and the section that holds filtered water, so that when you pour while waiting for water to filter, the unfiltered water spills over into your filtered water.Customer Review: Brita Water Pitcher Filter

Does not match as well as I thought it would with the rest of the stainless steel in my kitchen. Otherwise, the functionality is consistent with the rest of the Brita products I have bought. The digital filter timer is just time sensitive. It would be better if it actually measured the amount of usage you actually have left on your filter.
