I did my homework before ordering this pitcher. There are so many to choose from. This one meets our household needs. It is well designed, slim yet contains enough water, the lid is securely in place and the grip handle is a plus. I particularly like the filter change indicator on top. It makes it so easy to remind us when to replace the filter. And... very important to me, the water tastes great !Customer Review: Makes Florida water taste good!

I didn't think it would be able to take the terrible taste out of Florida tap water (which tastes like drinking from a pool) but it did. The result is water that tastes extremely like some of the big brand names from the supermarket.
The design is a bit funky but it was worth every penny. Try it! I'm very excited about all the money I'll be saving on bottled water.

I love my Brita. You get fresh bottled water taste without the waste of plastic bottles. I like that this model has the meter on top to let you know when it is time to change the filter. I use it every day to fill my reusable water bottle and I have saved a ton of money not buying cases of water. I decided I needed to upgrade my 10 year old Brita (mainly because over time the plastic has yellowed), so I took a look at the reviews of the various new models. I must say I was a bit dismayed by the negative comments, so decided to go to Consumer Reports for a professional opinion. The Model 42558 Aqualux got a great review. I'm extremly happy with this product. I heard that Brita was a brand that consumers could trust, but this is the first time that I own a Brita Pitcher and I love it!
The water tastes great...because it doesn't taste like anything. Now, I use the filterd water for everything: cooking, preparing tea/coffee...
