Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Brita 42412 Atlantis Water PitcherCustomer Review: Very good water and saves a lot on bottled water Summary: 5 Stars
I used to go through a case of bottled water in about 2 weeks, and it was getting expensive. A friend of mine had a Brita water filter, and after having some of the water from that I decided to buy one for myself. I have to say that I've had mine for little over a month and I have to say that I am really happy that I bought the this! The water tastes great, practically no difference from bottled water. The size is perfect for my mini fridge in my dorm room, and it fits right in the door. It is also easy to use as you just flip a part of the lid in the back and poor water directly into the reservoir (where the pre-filtered water sits before it is filtered). It doesn't take too long to filter the water, and I can usually fill the entire thing in about 5 minutes. You can then pour water directly from the Brita, making it very easy to use (it also doesn't look to bad either). In the entire time that I've had it I had one (literally one) black particle come from the filter, and it was easy to see and get rid of. As far as durability I dropped it once in the parking lot, and while the lid came up and bit and the filter popped out, there doesn't seem to be any damage to it and it works just fine. Overall I am very happy that I bought it, and I would highly recommend it!
Customer Review: Drink up my friends... Summary: 5 Stars
Living in Central Florida(Orlando)for sixteen years I could not drink tap water. Then by the advice of a friends recommendation to try a Brita. I figured the initial cost would be justified over the years through savings on bottled water. I was skeptical at first, but with the very first use, fresh tasting water was my experience. I was amazed that I got no side affects that I usually got from drinking tap water. No more foul taste or odor! This model is adaquate for one or two people. It is best to fill it before bedtime every night so to keep a fresh supply. It is a slow process, but the filter captures most impurities. Do we really know what we get when purchasing pricey bottled water? With a little more effort you can bottle your own supply of water. The Brita Atlantis is worth every penny I paid for it, and you can't say that about much these days.
Customer Review: I LOVE BRITA! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a water FANATIC.. and I have to have water that tastes good since it is the main liquid I drink. Brita is way less expensive than buying bottled water, and as another reviewer said.. the plastic bottles can sometime contaminate the water they hold. BRITA filters out some of those contaminates. Besides all that, BRITA water tastes great. I give it 5 stars, and hope that you like it as much as I do. It does fill slow, and when its gone, you have to fill it up, and wait for it to get cold.. and that can take forever. I have one room-mate, and between he and I the pitcher was always empty. So if you are going to get one, get one that holds alot of water.. you will not be sorry. And if you are worried about cost, think about how much you spend on for bottled water. I was drinking about 4 a week and then some.
Customer Review: Best Bang for the Buck Summary: 5 Stars
The filter is good at what it does...filtrates. This is an inexpensive, small but not too small, water filter that is definitely worth the money. The replaceable filters themselves are common and sold at Amazon, Target, etc. That is a major benefit! There is nothing worse than buying a water filter that requires rare, extremely expensive replacement filters. That is why this filter and other Brita filters are the best for the money.
The major problem is that the flap where the water is poured from sometimes freezes close (even in the fridge). Flicking it with you finger breaks the ice and you can pour. This is a minor problem that happens only occasionally. Still worth the money though!
Customer Review: Ten years and still going! Summary: 5 Stars
My Brita filtering pitcher, made from non-leaching plastic, is at least ten years old. Changing the filter is a breeze and when situated on the counter, is convenient to refill. Each filter last 4 to 6 months and I drink A LOT of water! The Brita water pitcher is voted a GoGreenMart&More product of the week.
But there are other green ways to get your daily water intake. Many fruits and vegetables are portable, self contained water sources naturally high in vitamins and fiber. For example, oranges, apples and carrots are 85 - 92% water, a bowl of cereal with milk contains up to 87% and pasta absorbs lots of water during cooking.
