Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Brita 42378 Deluxe Water PitcherCustomer Review: Will save you big dollars in the long run! Summary: 4 Stars
For the longest time I bought the generic brand of bottled water from the grocery store because the tap water doesn't have the best taste. When you do the math, this Brita filer will pay for itself in less than a year (shorter depending on how much water you consume). The water tastes great and it filters fairly fast in the event you need a quick refill. The pitcher has a large capacity however this is also a curse because when it is filled to the top my wife has a difficult time getting it out of the refrigerator because of the weight. Overall a great buy!
Customer Review: Good Britta Summary: 4 Stars
Just the right Britta for our fridge -- not too big (about the size of 2 orange juice cartons), and has a good handle, unlike some other dispensers. The price was fair too. The resevoir holds enough water for our household (2 people) without constantly running out (we refill it every other day or so). The only gripe is that you have to fill the hopper (the top filter part) twice for the pitcher to be completely filled -- something which can't really be avoided for the unit's relatively small/streamlined size.
Glad I got this one.
Customer Review: Better Than Tap Water Summary: 4 Stars
We had quite a "fancy" water purifier for many years and since we couldn't decide what to purchase to replace it, we ordered a Brita for the transition. It's been a good purchase since it makes the water taste good, but it seems the filter goes out way before the two month suggested change. It begins to taste "off" after about 5-6 weeks. There's two of us using it, me and my husband, and we do like to drink water ... but I would think it should last longer.
It's easy to clean and easy to fill. Nice design for its purpose.
Customer Review: good Summary: 4 Stars
The brita is great. Holds a lot of water and the filter works great. Its a great way not to spend money on bottled water. The down side is the lid. The past brita filters I have owned all had a "filter timer" on the top to remind you that you need to replace the filter. This model apparently doesn't have one. Also, the lid part that you flip up to add the water is pretty flimsy. It comes off just about everytime I try to open it.
Customer Review: Great tasteless water Summary: 4 Stars
This one works. The only problem is the ability to measure 40 gallons (the amount that can be filtered efficiently by a filter for the pitcher). I use it for a couple of months for 2 people at home.
The black specks people complain about is surely there even after the first few uses but they are restricted to the top container and doesnt get into the drinking water below.
Overall a decent buy.
