Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Brita 35548 Classic Pitcher

Customer Review: A Difference In The Taste!
Summary: 5 Stars

First off, this is a subjective review, so there's no need for any technical rebuffs or comparisons. I have a GE water filter in our 'fridge, that has water running through it under 60 PSI line pressure. Our public water system is almost entirely dependent on local wells drawing from a groundwater basin that is being over-drafted. The quality of this locally produced water has deteriorated in recent years and it characteristically carries a smell and taste of chlorine. For a lifetime here, I drew my drinking water from the tap, but lately began to rely on filtered water from the refrigerator. That is, until I bought Brita's "Classic" Pitcher. The darned thing really works! Water tastes bright, clean to the tongue and pure. Sure it's not a really complicated system and, maybe, that's the key to its continued popularity. Osmosis or membrane filtering systems need pressure and yes... they're good, but expensive. But, a less expensive highly touted charcoal based inline filter may not work under pressure any better than the gravity system in the Brita Pitcher. There is no question for me, at least, that our local water tastes markedly better when poured from my Brita pitcher than it does from the GE filter in the 'fridge ...and worlds better than water from the tap!

Customer Review: Classic is classic
Summary: 5 Stars

I love the classic because it is good looking and it works well. It doesn't leak and the top doesn't fall off if it is put on right. Match arrow, arrow to arrow. When you pour and your fingers are on the handle it is very easy to rest your thumb on the arrows on the handle/cover, offers security and a nice method of handling the pitcher.

This is a two-stage pitcher, I use it for coffee and tea and cooking.

I use a Pur three-stage pitcher for drinking water.

For looks and handling, I think the Classic Brita has it all over the Pur but have learned to live with wanting the three-stage process for some things, wish that Brita would consider a three stage filtering system.

Customer Review: Everything I Expected (and more)
Summary: 5 Stars

The tap water in my town had begun to taste bad and the water department had reported contaminants. I drink at least 8 glasses a day so I was concerned. Also, as the Public Health editor of BellaOnline, I am always looking for products that will improve the health of my readers. I examined several types of filter pitchers and chose the Brita Classic pitcher. My first taste of the water told me I made the right choice! It was delicious! The research supporting the filter's effectiveness in removing lead, copper, and other contaminants is impressive. My house has some old plumbing and lead can be a serious problem. With the Brita Classic pitcher, I have no more worries!

Customer Review: This classic is a beaut!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was shopping for a water pitcher because the last one I had cracked when it dropped on the floor. Looking on the shelves at Target, I found this one and said "perfect!" It is what I am looking for and I keep it in my room to remind myself that I need to drink water before getting breakfast. I got rid of the ceramic pitcher I bought at the bookstore. It didn't do anything for me. It doesn't take up much space either.

Customer Review: Great Tasting Water
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased one of the Brita pitchers to try on a recommendation of a friend since we have some sediment in our well water occasionally, now it's crystal clear! I love it! Makes me want to drink water. I'm not usually very good at that. I would like to purchase one of the newer model Brita pitchers when I see one on sale, they are a slim design and will fit in the refrigerator door.
